Last Call for Summer Seminar 03
The final deadlines for TOC's Summer Seminar 2003 are fast approaching. As the summer-seminar brochure stated, the early registration deadline was April 30 After that, the conference fee increases to $995. (Room-and-board charges for on-campus lodging do not increase.) All registrations for the summer seminar must be received by May 26, and they are non-refundable thereafter. Those who wish to stay at the Doubletree Guest Suites, where TOC has reserved a limited number of rooms, must call the hotel by June 6.
Don't forget that this year, for the first time, TOC is welcoming exhibitors to the seminar to display their books, products, and services. Exhibited material must be pre-approved by TOC. The exhibitor contribution is $500 if an exhibitor is a for-profit company and $250 if the exhibitor is a nonprofit. Each exhibitor will be provided with a table and two chairs and will be able to purchase a half-page ad in the on-site seminar informational booklet for an additional $200. At the seminar, an excellent lineup of faculty will offer a week full of inspiring and challenging lectures, courses, and workshops concerning philosophy, politics, art, and the application of Objectivism to one's personal life. Nine new faculty members will be on board this year, expanding further our community of Objectivist scholars.
Then, of course, there is the vibrant social life that takes place over meals and in the common room. The people who attend the seminar are as important to the whole experience as are the intellectual content and location. The seminar attracts top students and scholars, successful professionals, leaders of local Objectivist organizations, political activistspeople from all walks of life who are joining together to form a community of new intellectuals.
